Eco-friendly Fabrics

The ethical organic fabric we use is made from Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) approved inks and dyes, which are free from toxic chemicals such as chlorine bleach, formaldehyde and aromatic solvents.

We did not start off as a brand that uses sustainable fabrics but we are here to change things up. As of 2020, certain pieces from our collections are made from organic, renewable, or biodegradable fibres. As a small clothing brand, all our fabrics are sourced instead of produced in-house, that's why we get to select the fabric companies to work with.

he result: a beautiful material that’s soft, breathable, washable and hangs elegantly on the body. Sustainable fashion doesn't have to come at exorbitant prices and it is our goal to work towards keeping prices affordable for designs crafted in tencel fabrics.

Cupro
Cupro is a semi-synthetic fabric derived from cotton linter, which undergoes a process to remove any impurities and yield a product that is pure cellulose. Due to processing, Cupro has a softer feel than conventional cotton and carries similar weight, look, luster and hand to silk. Efficient in moderating moisture in absorption and release, Cupro does not allow moisture to be trapped between skin and clothing. Cupro is fully biodegradable.

Deadstock Fabrics / Deadstock Revival
Deadstock refers to old fabric that hasn't been able to sell, or is damaged and rejected by other brands but most of the deadstock fabrics that is being sold is just available, or purposely produced yardages. We do not wish for our customers to buy designs from us made from poor quality fabrics (or rejected fabrics), and we wish to be as transparent as possible to all Salient label shoppers. Our production line is based in Singapore now, and The Edit series features new designs made from unused deadstock fabrics from our past designs. Deadstock inventories in perfect condition of more than 3 years will also be recreated to new designs.
